Many imagine that muscle strength comes from lifting weights - progressive overload damages the muscles and as they repair themselves, they become strongerandlarger. The Anatomic™ approach is more nuanced.Functional development of muscles focuses on the development of the entire musculature, not just those muscles groups that would typically be addressed in a gym. It does not seek to build size (although that can be achieved supplementarily) but rather aims to ensure that there is exceptional strength across the entire body, and equally, that there are no weak links that could compromise performance. Anatomics exercises are designed such that each movement or pattern develops those muscles that cannot readily been as much as those that can. The objective is performance, not aesthetics.
